Roth is a storyteller. He is creative, witty, and has a great memory for details and trivia. Despite this, he is unaccustomed to being taken by surprise and is quickly developing a habit of responding either with denial or by blaming XI for anything strange that comes his way. His problem is not that he dislikes strangeness but that he has lived all his life being told that the fantasy and science fiction that he immerses himself in through books, movies, and roleplaying, are just that; fiction.

Roth makes a living as a freelance illustrator. Natural talent for visualizing and translating imagery from a variety of settings and genres have helped him make up for a lack of a college education.
