regarding, obliquely, Oops's current state of affairs.

up (Feb. 22nd, '08)
Got
the desktop limping along on loaner hardware. Good news
is that I'm not in quite as much financial trouble as
I thought because I've accrued vacation days that I
didn't know I was eligible for, so most of my trip is
going to be paid leave. \o/
I really half-assed this page. I didn't even check to
see if I drew Domingo anywhere near on-model and apparently
there was some arcane secret to drawing M.D. that I've
forgotten. I'm really not doing this comic justice anymore,
but I really want to at least finish this storyline
as gracefully as possible. Which doesn't feel very graceful
at all...

Catastrophic
Computer Failure (Feb. 6th, '08)
Well
not "catastrophic". It feels pretty catastrophic.
The computer I do all of my graphics work on, including
Oops, overheated or something today. I'm a bit of a
noob when it comes to hardware problems, but I managed
to work this out: the harddrive is fine, which is a
relief, but it looks like I'm going to have to buy either
a new videocard or a new CPU before it'll run again.
The problem is that between my rent going up and going
out to visit Claude in March/April, I can't afford to
get it fixed.
So no computer games for me for awhile, but also no
more computer art. I can do some work on my laptop,
but it's not really up to anything more complicated
than IRC and Word.
The long and the short of it is that I suspect updates
will be a bit sporadic for awhile. I'm really sorry
to do this to you guys again, but I don't really know
of any way to get around it...
I think I'll go lie down for a bit.
